By starting at our shop at 1816 Haight Street, which is only half a block from Golden Gate Park, riders can see two of San Francisco’s most famous attractions – both Golden Gate Park and the Golden Gate Bridge – on one ride. Your ride leads to Sausalito, where you can then board a ferry back to San Francisco. After disembarking in San Francisco, leave your bike (for a $6 drop off fee) at one of our shops on the San Francisco waterfront by the ferry terminals, or you can continue on and ride across town back to your starting point at 1816 Haight Street (no drop off fee). There are two ways of reaching Sausalito from Golden Gate Park: the short (9 miles) and less hilly route (with only one or two hills); or the long and hilly (but slightly more scenic way along Land’s End) route, which adds three more miles and two more hills to the ride. We will describe the rides to you and provide directions and maps at our shops, or you can view them both on the map above.
Please note that on weekends and during holidays and during the summer, lines can form for bringing bikes back on the ferries to San Francisco, so we recommend beginning early to avoid the lines at the ferries in Sausalito during those times.
